The Chinese delegation, headed by vice premier Meng Jianzhu, will sign an important agreement with Pakistan within 24 hours of its arrival in Islamabad. Meanwhile, the Foreign office spokesperson Ms Tehmina Janjua confirmed that President Asid Ali Zardari will host a banquet in honour of the leader of the Chinese delegation on September 26 at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
President Zardari, who returned from Karachi on Saturday, chaired a high-level preparatory meeting in the President House on Sunday, which was attended by relevant senior officials and advisers. Ms Tehmina Janjua further confirmed that the chinese vice premier and his delegation would also call on PM Gillani and senior officials of the armed forces of Pakistan.
Senior officials of the People’s Liberation Army and Chinese ministry of defence will accompany the Chinese vice Premier during these important meetings. Answering a question she confirmed that Pakistan’s ambassador in Bejing has already arrived in the federal capital in connection with this high-profile visit of the Chinese vice Premier. The delegation will return to China on Tuesday, September 27.
